Using touchscreen technology visitors can tap into the world of pollination.
Auckland Museum and Click Suite took three common New Zealand insects - the honey bee, monarch and native hoverfly - and set them loose in an amazing virtual rose garden.
The Pollinator, designed and developed by Click Suite, is an interactive game within the museum's Wonderland exhibition. It allows visitors to tap on a virtual rose which then attracts the nearest flying insect.
The user's objective is to pollinate six roses in a row. Achieving this takes a bit of learning, timing and strategy to ensure their roses will be successfully pollinated every time. To discover which insect is the most effective pollinator, visitors can listen to a narrator's description of each insect while viewing it in crystal-clear 3D.
If you're in Auckland go and check out the garden for yourself!
