Attending TED has definitely been a career highlight and missing it this year an equally definite low (though I'm already booked in for next year!). In an attempt to catch-up, I've been chatting with other attendees and watching what's being published on their website. Without a doubt this talk (below) by Blaise Aguera y Arcas was one of the technology highs from the February conference this year.
It's an amazing presentation on augmented mapping - add real time imaging, data and the ability to see inside buildings and wow - maps are so far away from the street maps we grew up on. No more trying to intepret a map - the map looks like the world does, plus it's searchable, and richly enhanced by all the geo tagged images on Flickr. It's truly spectacular.
So, take a break from the daily grind and enjoy a dose of awesomeness with your morning coffee...
